The planet Vinsoth is the capital of the Vinsoth System, Glythe Sector and Trade Federation territories.
Description
The large grassy continent and its small archipelago accounts for the majority of the planets population, containing vast business and bureaucratic districts, and has been likened by many to Coruscant in its sheer scale. The arctic regions on the South Pole are largely unexplored; though contain research facilities, whilst those on the north are mapped in great detail.
The North Pole is also home to a geographical phenomenon that makes Vinsoth something of a focal point with geographers. It contains a desert climate sandwiched between icy wastes and extensive oceans. No one is quite sure how this was achieved, though some cite it as a man-made feature by early settlers to provide a climate to raise desert creatures, despite affirmations by the local populace that it is entirely natural, and offering their own reasons for its appearance. Regardless, the desert of Vinsoth is an incredibly popular tourist attraction, and the beach resort is usually always full (due to climate controlling to heat the area around the desert).
The Planet Vinsoth also is home to the species of Chevin, and a race of humans known as the Chev. Both species, though having fought vast and bloody wars in the past for control of areas of the planet, now live in harmony, and are carefully sectioned to prevent any further unrest. It was thought the Chevin evolved naturally on the planet, whilst the Chev are the descendants of the first settlers on the planet, most probably redberry farmers.
History
Vinsoth. Once a barren wasteland of gases and dangerous terrains, now a bustling business planet. Vinsoth became the home planet of the Chevin and Chev species. It was a temperate planet with zones of grasslands, arctic ice, and deserts. The Chevin had a skin that could adapt to all three environments. In 3,000,000 BBY, an asteroid collided with the planet, killing most life on its surface but the remaining survivors evolved into the Chevin. The Chevin were nomads, keeping their Chev slaves in small farming and manufacturing villages. The planet was composed of seven continents, each ruled by a Chevin dictator who remained stationary, while the rest of the Chevin migrated.
It wasn't until 3000 BBY that a Lucrehulk 3210 Battleship, named the CIS Benevolence entered in the wrong coordinates before engaging Hyperspeed. They came out of hyper in full view of Vinsoth. Informing the Viceroy of CIS, they settled on the surface. Eventually, this CIS Colony would be disrupted as the Clone Wars started. It was eventually forgotten and lost. It wasn't until Viceroy Corbin Esco of the Mighty Trade Federation ordered an entire scan of the Sector known as Glythe Sector today. The Colony was found, but only Chevin remained hidden on the surface. A Chevin Dictator had taken over all the Continents and was on a killing spree. The Trade Federation landed its forces and easily defeated the Dictator and his troops. After Liberating the Chevin population, the Chevin Governor gave the Trade Federation full authority over the Government of Vinsoth. Today, it is the Trade Federation Capital.
